Junior Albini addresses his attire for UFC 224 – “No diapers this time”

Junior Albini (14-3) is well aware of the commentary on his competition attire from the last time he fought at UFC Fight Night 121. In a post on social media today the Brazilian posted his recent photo for what he will be wearing for his fight against Alexy Oleinik (55-11-1) at UFC 224 this weekend with a caption that reads; “No diapers this time.”

In his last fight, a UFC Fight Night 120 loss to former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, it appeared as if Albini was wearing adult diapers. The Brazilian mixed martial artist said it was the result of an attempt to make his shorts more comfortable.

“People were sending my messages, making fun of me,” Albini told Brazil’s Combate.com. “I thought it was funny, too, in the fight: ‘It does look like a diaper.’ My manager was laughing. We send each other some of the memes and laugh a lot. I was a good sport about it. I have to be. If I get pissed at this, I’m going to get pissed at everything.”

Oleinik is also coming off a loss to Curtis Blaydes from UFC 217. Both of these heavyweights could use a win Saturday night at UFC 224 where they fight on the prelims that air on FX at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. Regardless of what they wear into the cage Saturday night, who do you have winning?

It should be noted his nick-name is “Baby”.
