Justin Gaethje predicting a finish; says fight won’t go the distance

If you’re a gambler then you might want to listen to Justin Gaethje’s predictions of his UFC 249 main event fight against Tony Ferguson. “The Highlight” appeared on The Miesha Tate Show on SiriusXM and gave a few prediction, one being the length of the fight.

“I’m ready for the challenge mostly, but there’s absolutely no way that it goes over three rounds,” Gaethje told Tate. I would put $100,000 on that.”

If Gaethje gets the win, he will claim the interim lightweight championship, which will set him up for an undisputed title fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov in the fall. Of course winning the interim title won’t be an easy task as Ferguson comes into the fight on a 12-fight winning streak. While Gaethje is aware of what Ferguson has done, he doesn’t seem overly impressed with Ferguson’s body of work.

“He hasn’t lost in eight years, but out of those 12 fights, he’s never fought a Dustin Poirier or Eddie Alvarez,” Gaethje said. “He lost to Michael Johnson. He went three rounds with Donald Cerrone. Edson Barboza almost pushed him to the three rounds.”

Another prediction Justin Gaethje has is the pace of the fight and he’s expecting a lot of action throughout the course of the fight.

“We’re both very, very, special people when it comes to being inside the octagon. The pace that he’s going to set, the pace that I’m going to set, I just believe that I know I’m going to touch him.”

Justin Gaethje sounds absolutely confident ahead of the fight. In fact, he’s so confident that he has one final prediction on how the fight will end.

“Im going to finish him. I’m going to finish him in the first two rounds. He’s never been hit by someone that hits like me.”
