Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi promoted to headline UFC Vegas 74
Kai Kara-France will be headlining his first UFC main event.
Kara-France announced on the Who The Fook Are These Guys podcast that his UFC Vegas 74 scrap on June 3 against Amir Albazi has been promoted to the main event. The fight will be five rounds and go down at the UFC Apex, while the scrap is promoted after Jack Hermansson suffered an injury and was forced out of his main event fight against Brendan Allen.
“I’ve just found that my next fight, I’m the headline now, it’s five rounds. I’m gonna go out there and remind everyone why I’m the best in the world,” Kara-France said on the podcast.
Kai Kara-France (24-10) is coming off a third-round TKO loss to Brandon Moreno in the co-main event of UFC 277 for the interim flyweight title. The loss snapped his three-fight winning streak as he beat Askar Askarov by decision, Cody Garbrandt by first-round TKO, and a first-round TKO win over Rogerio Bontorin.
In the UFC, Kara-France is 7-3 and is ranked third at flyweight. The Aussie also has wins over Tyson Nam, Raulian Paiva, Elias Garcia, and Mark De La Rosa.
