Kamaru Usman fires back at Conor McGregor after the Irishman says he’d spark him
Kamaru Usman has taken exception to Conor McGregor saying he will come back at 170lbs and spark the champ.
McGregor suffered a broken leg at UFC 264 and will be out for around a year and on Twitter, he was answering a ton of fan questions. One question he got was about having KO’s in three different weight classes, which he expanded upon saying he will fight for the welterweight title and get a KO win there, too.
Tremendous! I love this record! I fight for the 170lb title I will spark him too.
That would be fastest ko in ufc title fight (13 seconds)
Most knockdowns in ufc title fight (5)
And then another KO in a ufc title fight.
3 title fights. 3 ko’s. 3 new records.
It’s right there! https://t.co/80iI59klPN— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) August 16, 2021

To no surprise, Kamaru Usman saw the tweet and blasted the Irishman for thinking he would win if they fought, let alone knock him out.
Spark who?? You must be talking about that pipe you’ve been smoking. Unlike you, if I’m gonna talk shit ill @ U. Now be quiet before I call Poirier or Khabib or Diaz to finish you again 🤫 #P4P 🤴🏿 https://t.co/2jSlVOkRXM

This is not the first time Usman and McGregor have taken shots at one another as the Irishman has made it known he wanted to try and become a three-weight champion. However, for right now, the focus is on rehabbing his leg while for Usman, he is set to defend his belt against Colby Covington at UFC 268 in November.
If Usman ends up fighting McGregor for the belt, it would be a massive fight as the Irishman could make history as a three-weight champion. Yet, with all the contenders at 170lbs and McGregor on a two-fight losing skid and out for a year, it seems unlikely they will ever face one another inside the Octagon.
