Karate Combat with Gabriel Varga and Dastonbek Otabolaev
Gabriel Varga is the former Glory and Bellator KB Featherweight champions. But his career started in karate. It wasn’t until seventeen that Varga started kickboxing where he had a natural feel for. He’s graced the ring in the aforementioned Glory and Bellator Kickboxing, as well as K-1. Since Bellator Kickboxing has seemingly been done away with, Vargas hasn’t been able to compete since 2019 in kickboxing. He has gone 1-1 in MMA with his last fight being in February 2020 at Bellator 239.
Dastonbek Otabolaev is the 2021 World Karate Champion and the first Uzbekistan Karate World Champion at that. At only 28, Otabolaev brings a different type of success to Karate Combat in season 4. The 4th dan black belt and has won bronze at the Asian Championships in 2019 and the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
The new signings come fresh off the release of Karate Combat The Movie which the promotion released on the 17th. Going into season 4 in 2022, Karate Combat looks to push new boundaries and change how combat sports are viewed.
Karate Combat looks to grow even further before their season 4 debut and with signings like Gabriel Varga and Dastonbek Otabolaev, they are well on their way. More signings are assuredly inbound to Karate Combat’a already deep roster to make the next season even bigger!
