Katlyn Chookagian

Katlyn Chookagian too much for Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 255

Katlyn Chookagian and Cynthia Calvillo met at UFC 255 in a highly anticipated flyweight bout from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Their fight would take place on the main card prior to a pair of flyweight title fights with Deiveson Figueiredo fighting Alex Perez in the main event and Valentina Shevchenko taking on Jennifer Maia in the co-main event.

Calvillo (9-1-1) came into the fight as a betting favorite after making a big impression on the flyweight division over the summer when she defeated Jessica Eye in her debut at 125 pounds. UFC 255 is a big event for Calvillo as a win could put as the No.1 contender in the division and may spring herself into a future title fight.

Chookagian (14-4) is making a quick turnaround after losing to Jessica Andrade last month by a first-round TKO. This fight marks her fourth of 2020 as she kicked off the year at UFC 247 in February where she fought for the title, but came up short as Shevchenko stopped her in the third-round. She did sneak a win in-between those losses in May when she defeated Shevchenko’s sister Antonina.
