Kattar-Ige to headline UFC’s July 15 event on “Fight Island”
Featherweights Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige are set to headline the UFC’s July 15 event on “Fight Island.”
First reported by ESPN, Kattar and Ige agreed to meet at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
Kattar is fresh off a second-round knockout of Jeremy Stephens at UFC 249 on May 9. The 32-year-old is 3-1 in his last four outings.
Kattar will headline his second event in his last three bouts. He lost a unanimous decision to Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC on ESPN+ 21 in November 2019. Currently ranked No. 6 in the UFC featherweight rankings, Kattar will meet a fellow top-15 contender in Ige.
