Kevin Lee to fight Charles Oliveira in main event of UFC Brasilia
Fresh off a huge knockout win in November of 2019, UFC lightweight Kevin Lee will now take on Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC Brasilia. The UFC made the announcement today for their March 14 event.
Lee (18-5) had one of the best knockouts of 2019 with his vicious head kick KO over Gregor Gillespie at UFC 244. That win ended a two fight losing streak for the 27-year-old.
“The Motown Phenom” is looking to make another run at a championship fight. Tony Ferguson defeated Lee for the interim UFC lightweight title in 2017.
Oliveira (28-8, 1 NC) has been red hot as of late and he’ll enter the fight on a six-fight winning streak. All of his wins have been by finish in either the first or second round.
Oliveira, 30, is a UFC veteran and 2020 marks his tenth year with the UFC. Throughout his career he has racked up several UFC records. Oliveira ranks first for submission wins (13), submission victories at featherweight (6) and second most finishes in promotion history (15).
UFC Brasilia will also feature light heavyweight Johnny Walker and the return of fan favorite Paige VanZant.
