Kyle Hannigan

Kyle Hannigan working to improve all of his skillset, prepares for Glory rules kickboxing at Stellar Fights 45

Kyle Hannigan will be entering the cage at Stellar Fights 45 on February 1 in Harrington, Delaware, to face off with Kyle Thompson in a Glory rules kickboxing contest.  Kyle is working hard to become a professional mixed martial artist and has fought in two previous MMA fights where he went 1-1.  It’s nice to see young fighters competing in different events to work on specific skills and in this case, it will be Kyle’s striking.

Hannigan grew up training in karate and about seven years ago he found BJJ.  When I asked him how this came about, he told us…

“My brother started training jiu-jitsu and was becoming pretty damn tough.  I was like I can’t be letting my little brother be giving me all of this work, so I joined myself and kind of fell in love with it from there.  I am a smaller guy so I was never really good in any of the team sports like football so when I found something I loved and was competing in my own weight class, I was in.”

I recently caught up with the young athlete after a training session. You can see our entire video interview with Kyle Hannigan on the link above.  He seems to enjoy the grind and has trained at several locations while trying to become well rounded.

The Delaware based Stellar Fights is hosting their 45th event. One of the best things about their shows is that President Brad Dalton has the flexibility to schedule MMA, kick-boxing and grappling all on the same fight card so fans get to see a variety of skills performed per night.  MyMMANews will be bringing you live results and post fight interviews as we continue to set the standard in regional combat sports coverage.
