Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor, biggest fight ever, Conor McGregor

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father says they need $100 million to accept Conor McGregor rematch

Khabib Nurmagomedov has said he isn’t interested in rematching Conor McGregor, yet things may have changed.

In the main event of UFC 229, the two fought in a highly-anticipated match where it was the Dagestani champion who won by fourth-round submission. Although Nurmagomedov won, the rivalry seemed to not be over after everything that was said and done.

Now, according to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap, they need $100 million in order to accept the rematch.

“We also need revenge against Conor,” Abdulmanap told RIA Novosti (via MMAMania). “But give us $100 million. The day after the fight against Ferguson, give us that amount and then why not get revenge? I don’t know, maybe Dana White wants to arrange it (for that amount), he needs that fight.”

Meanwhile, for Abdulmanap, he is not impressed by Conor McGregor’s performance at UFC 246. There, the Irishman knocked out Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds.

For Abdulmanap, he believes McGregor is not on the caliber of Khabib Nurmagomedov and if he really wants to impress people he should fight the like of Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington or Jorge Masvidal.

“Nothing surprising, I saw nothing new,” Abdulmanap said. “This is the 170-pound weight division, where the strongest fighters are gathered, regardless of weight category. Therefore, I think that absolutely nothing has changed in this weight, the current champion has remained on the throne.

“The top contender for the lightweight title is Tony Ferguson,” Abdulmanap added. “If Conor wants to prove something at welterweight, then there are Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal — these are the greatest fighters. McGregor and Cerrone in this weight aren’t even Top 10.”

The rematch between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov seems likely to happen as UFC president, Dana White wants it to happen. But, if it does happen, White and the UFC will need to pay Khabib a lot of money.
