Kyle Bochniak returns to CES MMA, faces Jonathan Gary at CES 61

Former UFC fighter Kyle Bochniak (8-5) will return home to the promotion where he launched his professional mixed martial arts career, CES MMA. “Crash” Bochniak will face Jonathan “Junk Yard Dog” Gary (13-11-2) in a featherweight bout according to CES MMA officials.

“Excited to be back where it all began and to show some new weapons and sharpen some old ones,” Bochniak told MyMMANews. “No better place to be for the second push in my career and to get back to the top.”

Bockniak went undefeated with CES, racking up six wins with the promotion before heading to the UFC in 2016.  While there, the 33-year-old fighter from Boston, Massachusetts was only able to put together two wins in six outings despite never being finished.

Gary is currently on a three-fight losing streak including a first round CES 49 submission loss to Sean Soriano. The 34-year-old pro fights out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In the CES 61 main event, Andre Soukhamthath (13-8) will return to CES MMA for his first fight since departing the UFC late last year. The 31-year-old “Asian Sensation” will meet Da’Mon “The Diamond” Blackshear (7-3) in a bantamweight bout.

In the night’s main event at the Twin River Casino, CES MMA flyweight champion Blaine Shutt (8-4) defends his 125-pound title against Richard Santiago (8-2). Shutt recently won the promotion’s inaugural strap with a split decision win over Johnny Lopez. Santiago enters the contest riding a second round TKO win over Giorgi Kudukhashvili.

CES 61 will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass. More bouts are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Current CES 61 fight card:
Blaine Shutt (champion) vs. Richard Santiago for the CES MMA flyweight title
