Kyung Ho Kang vs Danaa Batgerel booked for UFC 275
UFC 275 has quickly become one of the most anticipated events of the year thus far, showcasing title fights in the light-heavyweight (Glover Teixeira vs Jiri Prochazka) and women’s flyweight (Valentina Shevchenko vs Taila Santos) divisions.
UFC 275 is to go down on June 11, 2022, live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
Another bout the UFC has recently added to the card comes in the bantamweight division between Kyung Ho Kang and Danaa Batgerel.
Let’s start out with Kang, as he’s been in the promotion a bit longer:
Kyung Ho Kang came over to the UFC in 2013 with a record of 11-6. After going 2-1 (1 NC) through his first four bouts with the promotion, he was then forced to take a military leave, being Korean.
In South Korea, if you chose not to participate in their military for two years as an adolescent, you must do so before you turn 30 years old.
Long story short, Kang would return over three years later in 2018, and he’s since gone 4-2, only losing a split decision to Ricardo Ramos, and a unanimous decision to Rani Yahya in his last outing.
Danaa Batgerel on the other hand came over to the UFC in 2019 with a record of 9-1.
After losing his octagon debut to Alateng Heili via unanimous decision, Batgerel would win his next three-straight, all via first round knockout, before being stopped with strikes in his last outing against Chris Gutierrez.
There’s not much to be ashamed of there though, Gutierrez is quickly climbing his way up the rankings, going 6-0-1 in his last seven after losing his octagon debut.
This is going to be a very interesting test for both men, and to see where each of them is at in the bantamweight division. Who do you see coming out on top?
