Lauren Murphy going back to the old school for UFC Newark fight with Mara Romero Borella

Lauren Murphy checks in with MyMMANews.com to talk about her upcoming fight with Mara Romero Borella at UFC on ESPN 5. The event will take place Aug. 3 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Colby Covington and Robbie Lawler.

Lauren discusses recovering from the ankle injury that forced her out of the UFC Phoenix fight with Ashlee Evans-Smith, how the time off has helped her improve both physical and mentally, spending time with Emily Whitmire this week in Minneapolis, her knowledge of Romero Borella when she got the fight, the fight being moved from UFC 240 to the organization’s return to New Jersey a week later, why she is predicting  a “bloody brawl” on Aug. 3, moving her training back to her old camp for this fight and much more.

“Lucky” also revealed she is not training for this fight at The MMA Lab, the gym where she has trained for the last several years.

“To be honest, I moved my camp out to Texas,” Murphy told MyMMANews.com. “It’s not a new camp, it’s my old camp, the guys I was with all throughout my Invicta career, the guys I was with when I fought for Legacy. I’m 4-0 with this camp and I really trust the coaches a lot. They love me and have given me so much confidence and a really good game plan for this fight, so I’m super excited about it, I can’t wait.”
