LFA 82

LFA 82 brought the promotion back with another event on UFC Fight Pass Friday night when Alex Polizzi defeated Jamal Pogues winning the light-heavyweight title fight. This edition of LFA came to you, live from the Mystic Lake Showroom inside Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

The entire main card of LFA 82 aired worldwide on UFC Fight Pass at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT and you can read the details from the evening here or check the quick results at the bottom of the page.

A quick first-round finish for Thomas Peterson who used good old fashioned wrestling and ground and pound to get a win in round one.

It was a scramble heavy exchange between Sean Stebbins and Nate Smith where Smith proved to be the better grappler. Smith constantly attacked with chokes which Stebbins was able to avoid for most of the fight, but at the start of round two, Smith proved he was the superior grappler when he took Stebbins down and earned the TKO victory, see his handy work below:

Korey Kuppe showed off his very dangerous guard when he faced J.P. Saint Louis. The six-foot, two-inch grappler showed the danger of a man with long limbs fighting off his back. While Saint Louis secured the takedowns, it would Kuppe that would make him regret being there, take a look at the finish.

Another first-round finish highlight was Jake Childers takedown that removed his opponent from consciousness.

In a very tough title fight, Alex Polizzi was able to dominate with his wrestling and avoid any submissions Pogues would attempt. While Pogues seemed to have a definite advantage in the stand up striking department, Polizzi’s grappling would prove to be too much once they went into the deep waters of the championship rounds. The submission finish came quickly at the beginning of round four.

See the main card quick results below:
