LFA 83: Jackson Vs. Chaulet Results

LFA 83 will kicked off a heavy combat sports weekend for the mixed martial arts fans Friday night. The hardcore MMA fans tuned in to UFC Fight Pass to start off their weekends with a featherweight main event from the Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas. LFA CEO, Ed Soares calls Dallas, “The birthplace of LFA,” and the former  LFA featherweight champion Damon “The Leech” Jackson will be facing Mauro Chaulet at the top of the card with a co-main event featuring Bellator veteran Justin “The Tactician” Patterson against Matt Dixon.

LFA 82 had a lot of quick finishes and might be hard to follow, or it could bring tons of action when the first bell rings. My MMA News will be your guide to violence from Dallas this evening when the main card kicks off on UFC Fight Pass. See the quick results listed below:

The first finish of the broadcast portion of the card came from the heavyweights as Vernon Lewis spoiled Austen Lane’s LFA debut in round 1 with a takedown that lead to a TKO finish.

Hailey Cowan moved to bantamweight and had a rough debut in that weight class against Brittney Cloudy. The fight went the distance with both women having their moments, but in Cowan’s home town she was able to get the split decision victory.

The co-main event saw the Texas judges do what they have been becoming known for when a fight that was more even than they saw, was scored for Matt Dixon.

In the main event, Jackson earned a first-round submission after pushing the action early in the first round. Jackson was able to bring Chaulet to his knees with strikes, then work his way to his back and secure the choke.

While the event was not like LFA 82, which brought a string of finishes it certainly highlighted some talent for the future.
