LFA 91: Njokuani vs. Torres – Results
LFA 91 is the event that is set to conclude what the promotion has dubbed “Phase 2” of their return to action from The Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The event is was headlined by middleweights, Chidi Njokuani and Cristian Torres and with both men touting plenty of knock out wins on their records, LFA 91 made for a fun Friday night.
Check out the breakdowns and highlights from the main card:
Josh Quinlan vs. Pete Keepers
Josh Quinlan was aggressive from the face-off at the beginning of the bout. His aggression pushed Pete Keepers in round one, and eventually proved too much in round two. Quinlan worked the legs of Keepers eventually making him open up his hands to land the highlight-reel finish.

Nate Richardson vs. Darius Estell
In a fight that included a groin shot and an eye poke, both Nate Richardson and Darius Estell fought hard to nearly finish one another but the judges saw it for Richardson. It should be noted, Estell nearly dropped Richardson at one point but it was not enough to win the judges over.
Nick Maximov vs. Johnny James
In his LFA debut, Nick Maximov smothered a very tough Johnny James in their match and while James may have had a strength advantage, Maximov’s persistence on the ground would earn him a submission victory over James.

Hailey Cowan vs. Kelly Clayton
Hailey Cowan was the favorite in this matchup but it would Kelly Clayton and her superior grappling that would earn her a victory with a second-round submission. Cowan spent much of round one defending submissions from Clayton but it gave Clayton enough confidence to know, that’s where the edge was. So, with a hard strike to get the fight back to the ground Clayton went in for the kill.

Jamal Pogues vs. Tim Hiley
Jamal Pogues and Tim Hiley almost ended early as Pogues, who got Hiley to the ground and locked in a body triangle, suddenly found himself reversed with Hiley on his back. Hiley nearly got the choke but the round ended and Pogues made it a point to issue some payback for the next two rounds. Pogues controlled the fight, bringing it to the ground and controlling Hiley threatening submissions and picking up the win.
Kyle Stewart vs. Tim Caron
The co-main event had Kyle Stewart show off some great striking and all-around dominance. Tim Hiley was able to issue enough damage in the first round and there were some exchanges that could have gone either way. However, once Stewart got Caron on the ground, he was able to secure the mount in round two to get the TKO victory.

Chidi Njokuani vs. Cristian Torres
In the main event, Njokuani had a clear striking advantage but Torres tried to make up for the difference in tenacity. Still, Njokuani was able to fight what LFA commentator Pat Militch called a perfect fight where he landed a kick that sent Torres to the ground for the finish.
