LFA 99: Cody Brundage talks big debut

LFA 99: Dennis vs. Cherant goes down next Friday. The card is packed with violent bouts. Cody Brundage will make his debut against Joseph Kropschot. A fun stylistic matchup, each athlete is looking to impose their game plan. With both looking for a big rebound, they will also try to secure their next big fight under the LFA banner.

Cody Brundage talks opponent and debut

Brundage is an animal in the grappling department. Last February, the American wrestler put on a clinic at Lights Out Championship 7. First, when the fight opened, the 26-year old closed distance in a clean manner. With correct head placement, he hardly took damage. Then, after his opponent was gassed out, Brundage dragged him into deep water with a suffocating arm-triangle choke. The scrap was impressive, but the young wrestler showed he’s here to stay after taking out an opponent with over three times the fights as he had at the time.

After speaking with Brundage in regards to his opponent, the 6’1″ athlete told MyMMANews.com staff his thoughts, saying,

“I think Joseph is very talented and in a similar spot to me coming off a loss but right in the thick of things as a prospect, a win does a lot for both of us.”

With solid records in both corners, Brundage acknowledged palpable pressure behind the pairing. Additionally, Brundage expands on what are some of his biggest assets,

“My biggest strengths are obviously my wrestling pedigree and my power on the feet, I have great cardio and carry my power and pace to the later rounds. ”

Since Kropschot carries power in his hands too, the bout isn’t to be missed. No slouch on the ground, the 25-year old Kropschot is a proven commodity. For instance, three of his four professional fights ended in submission, so Brundage will need to be mindful during transitions, and never let Kropschot get a hold of his back. Two extremely talented prospects will put their records on the line and try to secure much-needed momentum in 2021.
