Linton Vassell talks Bellator 134, training with Blackzilians, and possible fight with Liam McGeary
English fighter Linton Vassell is on U.S. soil training with the Blackzilians when he speaks with Jade Morris of MMA UK, an affiliate of MyMMANews.com to speak about his upcoming Bellator 134 bout with Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.
Vassell who last fought for the Bellator light heavyweight title against champion Emanuel Newton seeks to come back from that loss. ‘The Swarm’ boldly predicts that he will stop Sokoudjou inside the first round of their February 27 bout in Uncasville, Connecticut.
With a win over Sokoudjou, Vassell said he feels he rightly deserves a rematch with the champion in Newton, should he get past his challenger in Liam McGeary this Friday at Bellator: British Invasion.
Of course Vassell will be rooting for his fellow countryman in McGeary to get a win over Newton, but Vassell tells Jade Morris that if McGeary does take the strap, he will not hesitate to challenge for the title just because they are friends.
Before Vassell’s loss to the champion, ‘the Swarm’ was on an impressive nine fight win streak and feels that he definitely gave Newton his toughest challenge in Bellator, if not his whole career. Watch the full interview below for more.
