Logan Paul, Dillon Danis

Logan Paul picks up first win as a boxer, Dillon Danis disqualified after brawl nearly ensues

DAZN Boxing returned to us today, October 14, 2023, for Misfits Boxing Prime Card, going down live from the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

Headlining the event is a 183 lb catchweight bout between YouTube boxing sensation KSI and fellow Englishman Tommy Fury.

Fury had gone a perfect 9-0 through his professional career going into tonight’s main event, while KSI had gone 5-0-1-1 between his amateur and professional bouts; the draw came to Logan Paul, which he avenged in the immediate rematch, and he was coming off a no contest against 9-1 talent Joe Fournier, who he KO’d with an illegal elbow earlier this year in May.

Co-headlining the event was also a catchweight bout, this one coming at 195 lbs between another YouTube star-turned boxer in Logan Paul who faced Dillon Danis in today’s co-main event of the evening.

Paul came into the bout having gone 0-1-1-1 through his previous three boxing appearances, while 2-0 MMA fighter Danis made his professional boxing debut today.

Official Result: Logan Paul def. Dillon Danis via disqualification at 2:54 of round six

Paul comes out throwing a lot of 1-2 combinations in the opening round, both to the body and head, some of them getting through the guard of Danis.

Paul lunges in with a right hand-left hook combo in the second, landing the left hook that wobbles Danis. Paul continued to unload on Danis with barrages of punches for the final minute of the second.

Paul continues to pick Danis apart through rounds three and four as Danis fails to give up any offense of his own.

Danis lets go on a few punches in round five, though he’s unable to land anything of significance and also gets tagged up by more shots from Paul.

Paul continues beating Danis throughout the sixth and final round, handily securing the first victory of his boxing career. Danis goes for a double leg in the middle of the sixth, and also attempted a guillotine choke in the final seconds. Paul goes in to land a heavy punch from above as Danis is on the mat and a brawl nearly ensues.

As a result, Danis was disqualified and there were no need for the judges’ scorecards.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
