UFC strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern made an appearance at Sunday night’s 2026 Golden Globe Awards alongside fellow UFC fighter Brian Ortega.

Dern and Ortega was introduced as “bodyguards” for presenters that followed shortly thereafter. The skit was obviously a promotion for the upcoming launch of the UFC on Paramount+ but it left most people watching asking “what was this all about?”
