Makwan Amirkhani vs. Jonathan Pearce added to UFC London
Makwan Amirkhani will be fighting at UFC London once again as he will take on Jonathan Pearce on July 23 at the O2 Arena.
According to Iridium Sports Agency, who manages Jonathan Pearce, their client will face Amirkhani at UFC London on July 23. The event will take place at the O2 Arena and the main event will see Tom Aspinall take on Curtis Blaydes at heavyweight, while the co-main event will see Darren Till make his return against Jack Hermansson.
Makwan Amirkhani (17-7) returned to the win column back in March at UFC London as he submitted Mike Grundy in the first round. The victory snapped his three-fight losing streak as he was knocked out by Lerone Murphy, and suffered back-to-back decision losses to Kamuela Kirk and Edson Barboza. “Mr. Finland” is a fan favorite and has been in the UFC since 2015. In his debut scored an eight-second TKO win over Andy Ogle. In his UFC tenure, he holds notable wins over Jason Knight, Chris Fishgold, and Danny Henry among others.
Jonathan Pearce (12-4) is a perfect 3-0 in the UFC’s featherweight division as he made his promotional debut at lightweight at UFC Boston in 2019 and suffered a TKO loss to Joe Lauzon. After taking over a year off, he dropped down to featherweight and has rallied off a TKO win over Kai Kamaka III, a submission win over Omar Morales, and a decision victory over Christian Rodriguez.
