Marvin Vettori to train in Dagestan ahead of bout against Robert Whittaker
Marvin Vettori vs. Robert Whittaker is being targeted for UFC 275 in June.
Whittaker is coming off of a loss to middleweight champion Israel Adesanya back at UFC 271. Before that, however, he went on a run through the top of the division with wins over Darren Till, Jared Cannonier, and Kelvin Gastelum.
The 31-year-old former middleweight champion will attempt to get back in the title picture as he takes on Vettori.
Vettori, who is also looking to get back in title contention, is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Paulo Costa at UFC Fight Night: Costa vs. Vettori.
In this training camp, however, the 28-year-old will be training in Dagestan as revealed by his manager Ali Abdelaziz.
In an interview with Helen Yee, Abdelaziz stated that “he’s going to Dagestan for a little bit and train…he loves the training with them.”

With the incredible wrestling techniques stemming out of Dagestan, it would seem that Vettori is going there to tune up his already great wrestling skills.
Though the fight has not been finalized, per Ariel Helwani, the fight is close to being a done deal.
Robert Whittaker x Marvin Vettori at UFC 275 on June 11 isn’t a done deal just yet, but it’s “very close,” I’m told.
