Marvin Vettori vs. Karl Roberson rebooked for UFC’s June 13 event
Lets try it again.
The UFC is rescheduling middleweights Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson for its June 13 event. The two were previously scheduled to fight on May 13, but fell through hours before the UFC on ESPN+ 29 card.
First reported by MMA Fighting, Roberson and Vettori agreed to the rematch.
A little over a week ago, Roberson came to the scale 1.5 pounds above his mark at the weigh-ins on May 12. “Baby K” fell ill later in the night and was sent to the hospital.
Roberson was released the day of the fight, but was not cleared to compete. While leaving the host hotel to head back to his home state of New Jersey, Roberson ran into Vettori in the lobby. The two exchanged words and the encounter escalated, which was captured on video.

Roberson is currently on a two-fight win streak, most recently choking out Roman Kopylov at UFC Moscow in November 2019. His other win includes a split-decision victory against Wellington Turman at UFC on ESPN+ 13 in July 2019.
Marvin Vettori is unbeaten in his last two outings as well. In his last outing, the 26-year-old defeated Andrew Sanchez via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+19 in October 2019. Beforehand, Vettori earned a unanimous decision against Cezar Ferreira at UFC on ESPN+ 13.
The June 13 card was slated for Kazakhstan, but it fell through due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no current location for the event.
