Team New Jersey will be coached by renowned MMA trainer Murat Keshtov. “I am very excited by the MMA Pro League concept, and I am honored to have been chosen as Team NJ coach,” said Keshtov. “I expect my team to put in hard work every day, and I am confident they will bring a lot of heat and great performances on October 28.”

Team Ohio Coach and current UFC MMA star Matt Brown said, “I’m looking forward to coaching Team Ohio to victory and showcasing the talent of the next generation of MMA fighters we have in our state! We are proud of our MMA heritage in Ohio, and my fighters look forward to the challenge posed by Team NJ.”

“I’m thrilled to bring the MMA Pro League team concept back to New Jersey again on October 28,” said Hani Darwish, MMA Pro League CEO and Founder. “New Jersey and Ohio are two of the most dynamic MMA regions in the US. Coaches Murat Keshtov and Matt Brown are passionate about their states and will have their stars of the future well prepared to bring a highly competitive night of MMA action to the fans at the Hilton Meadowlands and the viewers at home.”

The fight card will feature a total of ten bouts – three undercard bouts followed by the seven Team NJ vs Team Ohio matches. Each bout is scheduled for three rounds at three minutes per round. The winning team in each fight will earn three points for a decision and five points for a stoppage. The team with the most points at night’s end will be declared the winner. This unique, exciting format makes every fight important, building in excitement and leading to a crescendo for the final bouts.

Team Ohio Coach Matt Brown earned his nickname “The Immortal” after overcoming much adversity in his personal life in his twenties including a near-death drug overdose and a period of homelessness. His never-quit fortitude, however, led him to be chosen as a participant in the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter series and led to a career with UFC which includes twenty-four victories and the most knockouts in UFC history in the welterweight division.

Team NJ Coach Murat Keshtov was elected to the New Jersey Martial Arts Hall Of Fame for his tremendous prowess and accomplishments as a world-renowned Trainer. He began training in New Jersey in 1997, and in 2007 founded his Martial Arts School. Keshtov has trained many outstanding fighters including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Adlan Amagov, Bilyal Makhov, and Andrew Sánchez. He looks forward to continuing to develop and train the next generation of MMA stars.

The individual members of Team Ohio and Team NJ will be announced by Coach Brown, Coach Keshtov and MMA Pro League CEO Hani Darwish over the next few weeks. Training facilities for the teams will also be announced in the near future.

On Saturday October 28, doors will open at 6pm and the first bout will begin at 7pm.
