Former UFC heavyweight champ Maurice Smith to be inducted to Hall of Fame

Former UFC heavyweight champion Maurice Smith (12-14) will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame ‘Pioneer Wing’ during International Fight Week.

Smith began his professional mixed martial arts career fighting for Pancrase in Japan in 1994.  He has taken on legends such as Bas Rutten, Ken Shamrock, Tank Abbott, Kevin Randleman, Randy Couture, Renzo Gracie, Marco Ruas, and of course, Mark Coleman, whom he defeated to earn the UFC belt in his UFC debut in 1997.
