Maverick 26 results – AT McCowin makes statement with quick main event finish
Maverick MMA officials held their second of two back-to-back fight cards this weekend at the Signature Event Center in Brodheadsville, PA. Maverick 26, less than 24 hours after Maverick 25 concluded, featured some of the very best amateur and professional mixed martial arts bouts that you will see on the regional circuit.
In the night’s main event, Kris Gratalo returned to action after several years away from competition and faced promotional newcomer AT McCowin at middleweight.
McCowin, who had trouble on the scales at weigh-ins, had no problems coming up with a win as he put Gratalo away just 19-seconds into the fight.
Ricardo Jiminez also needed little time to put his opponent away as he finished Billy Markle by way of submission in just 54-seconds.
Jared Rivera remained undefeated and received the biggest pop of the night as he defeated Eric Massenburg by way of TKO in the second frame.
The fighter of the night however had to be Brandon Bohannon who entered the Maverick heptagon against a heavily favored Michael McCaffrey. Bohannon not only pieced his opponent up, but sent him to the hospital for further evaluation, and took his championship title in the process.
