Maycee Barber booked to return at in March against Andrea Lee

Maycee Barber will look to extend her win streak to four in March.

According to MMAFighting, verbal agreements are in place for Barber to take on Andrea Lee at a UFC Fight Night event on March 25. As of right now, the event’s venue and location have yet to be confirmed, while no other fights have been announced for the card.

Maycee Barber (11-2) is on a three-fight win streak as she’s coming off a decision win over Jessica Eye at UFC 276 in July. Prior to that, she defeated Montana De La Rosa by decision and won a controversial split decision over Miranda Maverick to snap her losing skid.

On the losing streak, Barber lost a decision to Alexa Grasso in her return from tearing her ACL. In her first career loss, she dropped a decision to Roxanne Modafferi in a fight she blew her knee in. Barber is currently 12th at flyweight and is 6-2 in the UFC but started out her career at strawweight. In her debut, she scored a TKO win over Hannah Cifers before moving up to flyweight and scored TKO win over JJ Aldrich and Gillian Robertson.

This fight against Lee is also one Barber called for following her win over Eye.

“Obviously I want to climb the rankings and the fight that really looks appealing to me is the fight with KGB (Andrea Lee). Mainly because she is number nine and I’m number 10 and it’s a great fight for me,” Barber said to BJPENN.com. “It’s the next spot and I don’t want to fight backward. Then someday, I want the fight back with Alexa (Grasso). I know Andrea has fought a lot of girls I’ve fought and she’s a name that has been around a while.”

Andrea Lee (13-6) suffered a decision loss to Viviane Araujo back in May which snapped her two-fight win streak as he had beaten Cynthia Calvillo by TKO and Anthony Shevchenko by submission. Lee has been in the UFC since 2018 and is 5-4 inside the Octagon with her also holding a notable win over De La Rosa. She’s currently ranked ninth at flyweight.
