Michael Chandler in WWE promo: “Conor McGregor, get your candy ass back to the octagon!”
Michael Chandler made an appearance on WWE’s Monday Night Raw in Anaheim, California on Feb. 19, calling out former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor. The former Bellator MMA lightweight champion has been trying to finalize a date for his projected bout with “Mystic Mac” for what seems like forever now.
The highly anticipated on-again, off-again bout has been rumored to take place on several cards this year, none coming to fruition as of yet. The contest, arguably one of the biggest in the promotion’s history, could have been featured as the main event of the historic UFC 300 fight card in April. McGregor himself actually announced that the fight would take place up at middleweight during International Fight Week in late June.
“Hey, what’s up Anaheim! You are now in the presence of the most entertaining UFC fighter on the planet,” Chandler said at the live pro-wrestling event. “Hey, now there’s a man from Ireland that’s been making me wait for way too long, and I’ve still got one dude on my mind! Conor McGregor, get your candy ass back to the octagon! We’ve got some unfinished business, boys! God bless. I’ll see you at the top!”

McGregor has not competed since suffering a broken leg in his July 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier. Both he and Chandler coached opposite one another on the most recent season of the Ultimate Fighter.
