Michael Imperato Moving Up To 145lbs For Dec. 18 Fight In Hopes Of Big Show Call Up

Interview with Michael Imperato above

Michael Imperato (9-4) discusses his featherweight title fight against Eric Wilson (7-10) at Tarps Off Fight Club 1 on Dec. 18. Michael also talks about having a tough time securing a fight over the last year, training in Las Vegas and why he had to move up a weight class to take advantage of this opportunity.

“I’m a 135er, I can make the weight super easy. I do cut a good amount but my body is used to it. I think I’m the best at bantamweight. Featherweight, I’m a big bigger, a little slower. So I don’t like fighting at 145-pounds, this was my only option. I think Eric wasn’t able to make 135-pounds. I’m down to fight whoever, at whatever weight.”

Tarps Off Fight Club 1 card:

Dominic Clark vs. Scott Hudson – 155 lbs
Michael Imperato vs. Eric Wilson – 145 lbs
Tom Theocharis vs. Drayton Angus – 185 lbs
Zackery Powell vs. Lee Gaudet – 170 lbs
Nicky Heinrichs vs. M. Al-Shammary – 145 lbs
Adam De Freitas vs. Jordan Balmir – 155 lbs
Noah Crosswell vs. Gino Ghalehpardaz – 135 lbs

Post updated – The Tarps Off Fight Club 1 event was eventually called off due to a surge in coronavirus cases in the area.
