Mickey Gall Returns to the UFC, Set to Face Sedriques Dumas at UFC Vegas 121
Mickey Gall is set to make his return to the UFC.
The 34-year-old welterweight is reportedly scheduled to step back inside the Octagon on September 26 at UFC Vegas 121, where he will face Sedriques Dumas at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The matchup was first reported on Friday with multiple reports pointing to the fight being added to the upcoming UFC card.
For Gall, the fight represents another chapter in one of the more unusual careers in recent UFC history.
Gall first became a UFC name in 2016 after earning his contract through Dana White’s Lookin’ for a Fight. He made an immediate impression by submitting Mike Jackson in just 45 seconds, earning himself the opportunity to face former WWE star CM Punk at UFC 203.
Gall defeated Punk by first-round submission, then followed the victory with another submission win over Sage Northcutt. Those early performances made Gall one of the UFC’s most recognizable young prospects, although his career eventually became more inconsistent.
After building a 5-2 UFC record, Gall went through a difficult stretch that included losses to Randy Brown, Diego Sanchez, Mike Perry and Alex Morono. He defeated Jordan Williams by first-round rear-naked choke in 2021, but subsequently lost to Morono and Mike Malott.
Gall’s UFC contract expired in 2022, and he was no longer on the promotion’s roster.
He eventually returned to the UFC in 2024 after nearly two years away. Gall faced Bassil Hafez at UFC 302, losing a competitive unanimous decision. Later that year, he returned at UFC 309 against Ramiz Brahimaj and suffered a first-round knockout loss.
Now, after another lengthy period away from competition, Gall is reportedly headed back to the Octagon.
