Miesha Tate sends message to entire bantamweight division: "They can all get it"

Miesha Tate believes a stoppage win over Ketlen Vieira puts her in title conversation

Miesha Tate is looking to become a two-time UFC bantamweight champion and she believes a stoppage win over Ketlen Vieira is a massive step towards that.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 43, Tate is set for her second fight since making her comeback as she is taking on Vieira in an intriguing matchup. The former champ ended her retirement back in July and scored a TKO win over Marion Reneau and now for Tate, she is gunning for a stoppage win as that will send a message to the entire division.

“I really want to get a finish. I know every fight, people will say they want to finish, and that’s true. You want to finish every fight. But I feel like it’s really imperative this fight, because that’s what will put me in title talks, right? It’s not that I won’t be happy if I got a decision win,” Tate said at media day. “Of course, a win is a win. But I really want that finish, like, really want that because I want to be talked about being in as the No. 1 contender.”

Although Miesha Tate is confident she will finish Ketlen Vieira on Saturday at the UFC Apex, she knows the fight will be tough. She says the Brazilian is a tough test for everyone and knows she will be losing the fight at parts but is confident she has what it takes to win and get a stoppage.

“You know, fights don’t have to be perfect; they just have to be won,” Tate said. “That’s what I’m going to do. So I expect a fight. I expect a war. I don’t expect to win every second of this fight, but I do expect to get a finish.”

If Tate does finish Vieira at UFC Vegas 43 perhaps she does get the next shot at Amanda Nunes because they have a storyline there.
