Mike Perry vs Eddie Alvarez to headline BKFC 56 in December

BKFC 56 schedules headliner between Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez

BKFC 56 is to go down on December 6, 2023, live from the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mike Perry has done very well for himself since departing from the UFC in 2021. His final UFC bout took place against Daniel Rodriguez, a fight he lost via unanimous decision, dropping him to 3-7 over his last 10 following an 11-1 start to his MMA career.

Since then, however Perry has won four-straight fights, beginning with his victory over 25-3 pro boxer Michael Seals in Triad Combat, a boxing fight in which each man competed wearing MMA gloves. He then defeated Julian Lane, Michael Page, and Luke Rockhold inside the BKFC ring since 2022.

Former Bellator & UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez on the other hand, following his UFC departure in 2018, had gone 1-2 (1 NC) through his next four MMA fights, all under the ONE Championship banner prior to making his BKFC debut against Chad Mendes earlier this year in April.

Alvarez was awarded a split decision victory over Mendes after five rounds of absolute chaos, making him 1-0 as a bare-knuckle boxer.

This bout is to go ahead at 175 lbs, and is to serve as the five-round main event of the evening.

In addition to Alvarez vs Perry, BKFC 56 will also host a co-main event between Ben Rothwell and Todd Duffee, as well as a feature bout between another pair of UFC veterans in Jeremy Stephens and Jimmie Rivera.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
