Fight Music Producer Mikey Rukus To Make Feature Film Debut

Mikey Rukus has created walkout songs for fighters such as Mark Hunt, Ultimate Fighter winner Chad Laprise, Michelle Waterson, Cub Swanson, just to name a few. He also created the original theme music for Invicta Fighting Championships when they first launched, which you can still hear during their shows today.

You can currently hear his definitive voice in the opening to the WSOF shows with their theme song “Here We Go” which was crafted by Rukus. Heck, Mikey even made music for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship for promos featuring a young pimply faced Conor McGregor when he was their champion prior to signing with the UFC.

Now Rukus is taking his career in a different direction.

Sources close to the famed fight music producer tell MyMMANews: “Mikey’s making his feature film debut. A production company has green lit a project where he will have a starring role. It is non-MMA related but is rumored to feature cameos of both UFC and WWE stars as well.”

The source states that the tentative release date is spring of 2018 but pre-production begins in March.

‘The film is described as a drama/comedy..” Dramedy” of a single father raising three kids, past his prime and accepted reality where his dream of rock stardom has passed him by. While arguing with his kids about “real music ” he writes a pop song to prove a point of how easy and shallow it is and it goes viral. Then he’s forced to choose between realizing his dream and leaving his kids behind or giving it up to remain their rock.

His Twitter feed (@MikeyRukus) is chock full of fight breakdowns, sarcasm, thought evoking questions and the like in regards to our sport. You can often catch him live tweeting during UFC, WSOF and Bellator events. Mikey is a fight fan first. His main goal was always to put the sport he loved first, and to help tell the stories of the fighters that have the courage to make the walk to the cage.

Rukus has been created hundreds of custom walkout and theme songs for fighters. Here is a 20th anniversary song Rukus did for the UFC and MMA Signatures.
