Miranda Granger talks motherhood and UFC return

Miranda Granger has been enjoying life and for a good reason.

On Feb. 7, Granger shared a post on Instagram from her last UFC fight and the caption said “Coming soon……news dropping tomorrow!!”

With a photo from the octagon, many assumed that the news would be a fight announcement, but it wasn’t.

The next day, Granger announced that she was pregnant with her first child. Then a few months later on Aug. 19, her daughter Austin Layne Barish was born.

Since the birth of her daughter, Granger has not only been adjusting to life as a first time mom, but she has also slowing been working her way back towards a UFC return.

Ever since she became pregnant, Granger started working with Brianna Battles, who specializes in pregnancy and postpartum athleticism. Battles was able to keep Granger in shape during her pregnancy and is now helping her prepare for her octagon return.

Right now, Granger says she is back now to the weight she was before getting pregnant, but she knows she definitely isn’t fight ready just yet. She is planning to build up her strength and when she feels ready she is going to go through a test training camping. If all goes well in the test training camp, Granger will then look book her next fight.

The new mom recently talked with MyMMANews about being a first-time mom and her UFC comeback. You can watch her full interview in the video above.
