Mohammed Usman talks PFL signing, praises Titan FC for support
Today the Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced the signings of many new fighters, one of which ended up being former Titan FC heavyweight, Mohammed Usman.
You may recognize the last name. Usman is the brother of UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. Not only that, Usman’s been a hot prospect on the regional scene for sometime.
Nicknamed “The Motor,” Mohammed Usman enters the season on a three-fight win streak. Following in his brother’s footsteps, Mohammed will attempt to mirror his brother’s journey from humble beginnings in Auchi, Nigeria to MMA champion.
Many speculated it would only be a matter of time before he was snapped up by a big promotion. Enter: PFL. Indeed, PFL made a lot of signings in their offseason after recognizing the promotion could use some fresh faces.
In the interview above, Mohammed Usman discusses his signing with the promotion, growing up with Kamaru, his time with Titan FC, and so much more.
“They want you to go to a higher promotion,” Usman said of his departure from Titan FC. The former football player has nothing but positives to say about the promotion that helped put him on the map.
“That is the whole goal, the ultimate goal is getting to another level. I will always respect Titan, all those guys over there, Jeff Aronson, Lex McMahon, their whole team over there. They are by far the best regional organization around. They are delighted to hear about you going to a bigger organization. That just makes their organization that much better.”
