Official Result: Molly McCann def. Luana Carolina via KO (spinning back elbow) at 1:52 of round three

McCann comes out with a furious pace to start round one, and badly hurts Carolina with an overhand right.

She then swarms her opponent and continues rattling Carolina in the process.

It appeared this one was going to be over quickly, but Carolina is able to secure a clinch, but is being controlled along the fence for much of round one. McCann then unloads again, this time going to the body in the middle of her combination, but Carolina is able to survive the first.

McCann picks up the beginning of the second just as she ended the first, pressing the pace and throwing heavy leather Carolina’s way.

She’s then able to take Carolina down and remains on top in her side control for a couple minutes, before deciding to let her back up.

Carolina begins to let go of her strikes toward the end of the round but is picked up and slammed at the end of it.

Just as the commentators were saying McCann is starting to slow down, she throws and lands a vicious spinning back elbow that immediately ends the fight.

Molly McCann showed off her boxing background tonight, where she went 17-0 as an amateur before starting her mixed martial arts career, and she just became the first woman to win a UFC fight via spinning back elbow.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
