Molly McCann’s return to London set when she faces Hannah Goldy
The “Meatball” Molly McCann is headed back to London.
Just a few months after the very successful UFC London event held in the O2 Arena, the UFC announced that they will run it back and hold another event there later this year. Many of the UK-based fighters who fought on the March card will most likely see another go-around on the sequel event. UFC heavyweight contender Tom Aspinall headlined the UFC London card on March 19 and will again get the call to headline the card on July 23. Alongside him, is now Molly McCann who gets another shot in her home country of England.
The Liverpool native has now fought in England three times since joining the UFC. This past outing she really broke through when she scored a Performance of the Night-winning knockout out of Luana Carolina with a spinning back elbow. McCann really shined in front of her home crowd, leaping from the Octagon after the win. In the lead up to the fight and even after she and training partner Paddy Pimbeltt were the talk of the town. The two of them together have quickly become fan favorites. It is presumed that Pimbeltt will be joining McCann on the card but no official word yet to confirm that.
This go-around McCann will be pitted up against Contender Series alumni, Hannah Goldy. The fight was first announced by MMA Fighting. She is coming off a submission victory win over Emily Whitmire back in September of 2021. She has not fought since last year but did have a fight canceled in February due to illness. She will have a tough task ahead of her going into enemy territory to face McCann.
The entire UFC London fight card to be held on July 23 in the O2 Arena is as follows:
- Curtis Blaydes vs. Tom Aspinall
- Darren Till vs. Jack Hermansson
- Molly McCann vs. Hannah Goldy
