MyMMArijuanaChronicles ft. Gillian “The Savage” Robertson: “We had like 3 or 4 blunts with Snoop”

Interview with Gillian Robertson above

In this edition of MyMMArijuanaChronicles, we chat with women’s flyweight, BJJ blackbelt, and cannabis enthusiast, Gillian “The Savage” Robertson. Currently under the UFC roster, sporting a 9-6 record.

Being the youngest contestant on season 26 of The Ultimate Fighter, Robertson certainly endured life-lasting memories throughout the season. A season that featured alternate commentary with the one and only, Snoop Dogg. While being one of the world’s most renowned rappers of his generation, Snoop is synonymous with something else that he and Robertson have in common. The power of the plant.

“One of the ladies who like was one of the producers, she was like, ‘If ya’ll get me a piece of gum, I’ll hook you up with Snoop. I’ll try to make sure you guys can get up there,” Robertson recollects. “So, we made sure that happened,” she laughs. “We got up to where Snoop was doing a podcast with Uriah Faber, and we were like, “Ohh. It smells good up here! It smells so good up here,” she recalls. “He (Snoop) was like, ‘well, if you like the smell up here, you got to smell it down in my trailer,” Snoop replied. “So, he brought like 12 of us down to his trailer and just started passing blunts,” she gushes. “And then our producer walked in and he was like ‘No! No, this cannot be happening,” she remembers amidst a chuckle. “And Snoop was ‘Who the f*ck is this guy? Get this mother f*cker out of my trailer,” she says. “So, this big, like bodyguard comes over and pushes our producer out of the trailer and we ended up just sitting there and smoking blunts,” she details. ‘We had like 3 or 4 blunts with Snoop for like 3 or 4 minutes and just chilling and having fun! It like legit, 100% didn’t feel like real life to me,” Robertson says about the memory.

With times catching up, restrictions on cannabis in certain states are being lifted for fighters. A huge relief to fighters who choose to medicate. In turn, the business has been plentiful for fighters to cooperate with. Robertson, for instance, is one of the few UFC fighters officially representing the popular vaporizer brand, Dr. Dabber.

While every fighter has their personal reasoning to choose why they medicate, Robertson is no different. From her perspective, it helps her cognitively process and develop various perspectives that she believes that she may not be so perceptively in-tune to if she wasn’t medicated.

“More than anything, it’s just the enjoyment of it. It’s the opening of my mind that it gives me, I guess different ways to navigate through my mind. You know? So, it’s like I get different viewpoints and different mindsets where it’s like I get more creative and I definitely develop different points of thoughts that I would never develop,” she says. “It just opens up your mind 100%!”

Tune in above as Gillian “The Savage” Robertson checks in with MyMMArijuanaChronicles to discuss her memorable moments with Snoop and the ladies of the TUF house. She opens up about her reasons why she utilizes cannabis in her daily recovery, as well as sharing some fun tales from the fighter life!
