Natan Schulte defeats fellow former champion Raush Manfio at PFL 6

The Professional Fighters League returns to us tonight, June 23, 2023, for PFL 6, going down live from the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Headlining the event is a lightweight encounter between 2022 champion Olivier Aubin-Mercier (18-5) and Challenger Series alum Anthony Romero (12-1), each talent of which has gone 1-0 thus far into the year.

Co-headlining the event is a welterweight bout showcasing another 2022 champion in Sadibou Sy (14-6-2), who takes on Shane Mitchell (13-5) later in the evening.

Co-headlining the preliminary card tonight was the return of two-time PFL lightweight champion (2018 & 2019) Natan Schulte (25-5-1), who faced fellow former PFL lightweight champion (2021) and former Titan FC lightweight champion Raush Manfio (17-5) earlier on in the night.

Official Result: Natan Schulte def. Raush Manfio via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Schulte has a dominant opening round. Though he’s denied on his first takedown attempt, he’s successful with his second. He spends a good amount of time on Manfio’s back, though he doesn’t secure any hooks.

Manfio spins into him toward the end of the round and is tripped right back down to the mat, where he ends the round on his back.

Schulte also spends some time backpacking Manfio in the second, though the two are stood up with a minute left in the round due to inactivity. It wasn’t the most eventful affair.

Round three is quite similar to the first two, with Schulte accumulating some ground control time as he eats up the clock. These two are teammates at American Top Team, and they fought like it. Neither man had urgency when the fight was on its feet, and neither fought with too much urgency on the mat.

Natan Schulte improves his win streak to four-straight tonight at PFL 6 with this victory over Raush Manfio.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
