New opponent, same mindset as Bill Algeo gets back to work at CFFC 83

Interview with Bill Algeo above

Regional MMA fighters have had to endure much more than most with this Covid-19 pandemic.  They have just recently been allowed to train again at their facilities and wait for promotions to find a way to have events without fans.  On August 12th and 13th, a Wednesday and Thursday night, CFFC will host back to back events at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia.  UFC Fight Pass will help them offset the loss of revenue at the gate and use the air time to promote the weekend’s fighting events with the live streaming fight cards.  On the 13th, Bill “El Senor Perfecto” Algeo (12-4) will climb back in the cage for the first time since his loss on Dana White’s Contender Series against Brendan Loughnane.

Algeo was scheduled to fight Pat Sabatini who is another fighter with next level skills. When you are in this business, you have to be prepared for anything and Algeo being the professional that he is had to hang on for a few days as they looked for another featherweight as Sabatini had to withdraw from the contest due to a positive Covid-19 test.

MyMMANews caught up  with Bill after a training session and he told us…

“About a week ago I found out the Pat had to pull out and they were looking for another opponent.  Tim Dooling (9-7) stepped up and accepted so he and I are going to battle again.  We fought once before (at Ring of Combat 61 in November of 2017. Algeo won by TKO in round 2 ).  Tim is a tough guy and has my respect. I have been training and watching my weight so I have the same mindset and am happy to get back to work.”

You can see our full interview above.  Algeo believes with a victory that he keeps his name on the short list for another possible shot on DWCS or possibly a short notice call for whoever needs a dangerous, talented 145 pounder who will fight anybody.  In the meantime, he will be back at Algeo MMA and Kickboxing handling his final preparations, and the self quarantine necessary to have the fight take place without any more surprises.
