Nick Browne looks at options after July win

Nick Browne is surveying his options.

Fresh off a unanimous decision win against Ben Egli at LFA 87 in July, Browne is open to a number of options. Currently riding s three-fight win streak, the Pennsylvania native is waiting for calls from the UFC or Bellator, while also interested in staying in LFA’s surging lightweight division.

“If I would have got the finish , I was expecting a decent call up or word of, ‘We like to get you as a matchup,’” Browne said.

“It’s always you’re on the list, wait for the call.”

Nick Browne’s options

Browne trained his entire camp for Josh Wick, but Wick withdrew from the bout on a week’s notice. Browne still came out with the win, but lacked the flare he hoped for. He is still waiting in the wings for Dana White’s Contender Series or an immediate call to the UFC.

After having talked to Bellator in the past, Browne is willing to revisit conversations with the promotion.

On the same card Browne beat Egli, Bryce Logan became the new LFA lightweight champion with a unanimous-decision win against Jacob Rosales.

Browne is interested in challenging Logan for the belt in an attempt to help his resume stand out. The promotion’s lightweight division continues to grow.

LFA 87 takes place this Friday, Aug. 28. The event is headlined by a lightweight clash between rising prospect Grant Moore and “The Ultimate Fighter” season 27 runner-up Joe Giannetti.

About a month removed from his last fight, Browne is eying a return for the end of September or early October. Whether it is with LFA or not, he is ready for the next step of his career.

“As time goes on, you always want to be the best, so you have to beat the best,” Browne said. “Anything that steps up, you’ll never target a no from me. If you’re like, ‘Hey, there’s this tough guy,’ Hey, set it up, let’s make it happen.”
