Nick Stasio predicts: “Round one! Get it going off the jump!”

This Friday, June 18, Nick Stasio makes the walk to the cage for the second time in Patchogue, NY. for Flex Fights Presents: Battle Garden Fight Series 1.

Stepping back into the cage in over a year due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, Stasio dropped a decision in his amateur debut bout in 2019. With tons of time for improvement and reassessing some key points in his training regimen, Stasio transitioned to Marquez MMA and Daniel Gracie Fight Team in Philadelphia, PA. Since the change, “my IQ has improved everywhere,” he says. “I feel like I’m, at this level, a true threat anywhere you want to take it.”

Since getting involved in MMA, “I am truly obsessed with this,” Stasio says. With his sights sets “to be a f*cking champion”, he passionately says about his career. Stasio is primed, eager and ready to take get back on track and in the win column when he takes on his opponent, David Iguerra, who will be debuting on fight night.

Of course, in today’s world of technology, fighters often search for any fight/training videos or posts from the opposition to get a glimpse as to what they’ll eventually be facing. Especially with the content being so readily available via Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc. However, with an opponent making his debut, little, if anything is to be seen. Unfazed by the circumstances, Stasio prefers “to know basic stuff about the guy. Just so you have an IQ,” he says. Contesting, “but I think you have to get ready for me at this level,” he boldly says.

With his confidence currently skyrocketing, Stasio hints “I have a right hand that I’d like to use at some point,” but boldly and confidently predicts “body lock slam, neck take.” As he exuberantly continues, “round one baby, let’s get it round one! Get it going off the jump!”

Tune in above to hear Nick Stasio as he joins MyMMANews before he steps back in the cage for the second time at Flex Fights Presents: Battle Garden Vol. 1. He discusses how his grandfather sparked his martial arts fire, transitioning between gyms, utilizing time during the pandemic to get better and so much more!
