Niko Price vs. Alex Oliveira added to fall UFC Fight Night card
An exciting welterweight bout between Niko Price and Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Night card on October 2.
MMAjunkie.com was the first to report on the exciting fight between Price and Oliveira, which will take place on the October 2 card which is currently headlined by Brazilian light heavyweight contenders Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker. The card is set to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, and air on ESPN+.
Price (14-6, 2 NC) is currently on a three-fight winless skid, having lost to Michel Pereira in his last fight, drew with Donald Cerrone before that (in a fight that was later turned to a No Contest), and he also lost to Vicente Luque via TKO (doctor stoppage). Despite the recent losing skid, Price has still had an overall successful career in the UFC since joining the world’s leading MMA promotion in 2016. Since then, Price is 6-5, 2 NC overall in the Octagon, with big wins over the likes of Tim Means, Randy Brown, and James Vick.
Oliveira (22-10-1, 2 NC) has also been on a recent losing skid, having lost two straight fights to the aforementioned Brown and to Shavkat Rakhmonov, with both of those losses coming by submission. Prior to those defeats, Oliveira had picked up decision wins over Max Griffin and Peter Sobotta. Since joining the UFC in 2015, Oliveira is 11-8, 1 NC overall in the Octagon, with notable wins over the likes of Carlos Condit, Will Brooks, and the aforementioned Means. However, despite having some big wins in the Octagon, Oliveira has been very inconsistent as of late, and he will likely need to win this fight to keep his job on the UFC roster. It should certainly be an exciting fight for as long as it lasts, but look for Price to be favored.
