Ninja Viking Meets “Boston Crab” Legend
Norway’s Joachim Tollefsen is set to face off against the creative grappler Jonno Mears from England at Superior Challenge 26 on November 4 at Annexet in Stockholm, Sweden.
Joachim Tollefsen, known as the “Ninja Viking” (pro-MMA record 6-6-1) and hailing from Oslo has been competing in MMA since 2014 and has also fought in Muay Thai. He trains alongside Norway’s top MMA athletes, including UFC star Jack Hermansson and Kenneth Bergh. Tollefsen fought against notable fighters such as Swedish UFC veteran Guram Kutateladze and has finished the majority of his victories via first-round TKO.
Jonno Mears (pro-MMA record 6-3-0) from Manchester began his MMA career a year prior to Tollefsen and has finished most of his wins via Submission in the first round. Mears gained global recognition for being the first and, so far, the only fighter in the world to submit an opponent using the classic pro-wrestling hold known as the “Boston Crab” in a real MMA bout. The video clip of this submission victory went viral, garnering Mears significant global attention. He draws inspiration from pro wrestling and attempts to finish his opponents with unorthodox submission techniques.
