Full interview with Octavius Slaughter above.
Delawares premiere kickboxing and Muay Thai promotion, Gut Check Championship Series touches down on Hockessin, Delaware on Saturday, September 24.
Taking place at the Hockessin P.A.L center, and a live feed brought to you by Fight Club Live (FCLTV.com), Gut Check returns to a familiar area to put on one of the best pro/am cards the Delmarva region has to offer.
In a youth matchup that’s set to tear the roof off, Former title challenger, Octavius Slaughter takes on debut fighter, Jay Delgado.
Delgado has had a lot of hype behind his debut, considering the stable he trains with who are currently undefeated in the UFC. However, Slaughter doesn’t flinch at the opportunity to take on another game fighter.
Training with a solid stable in Quintella MMA, Slaughter understands what it takes to prepare for an intense, high-level fight.
“I have six minutes and in that six minutes I have to do what I can to get that win,” Slaughter confidently says.
“Once I feel it out and get my range…Pressure,” he says. “Pressure until the end of the fight. Pressure with sharp shots. Keeping my distance and hit and don’t get hit,” the intelligent Slaughter curated.
“I would like a second round KO or TKO and I feel like I can accomplish that,” he says. Explains, “Especially if I set the pace early, get him a little tired. I think I can get it done in the second.”
