Ohio Combat League to host back-to-back nights of boxing and MMA during Arnold Sports Festival
The Ohio Combat League will host two nights of back-to-back events in March, as the Arnold Sports Festival returns to Columbus, Ohio for the first time since 2019.
On Friday, March 4 OCL will host an all-pro boxing event at Hollywood Casino. In the main event, Alante Green will face Samuel Clarkson for the IBF/USBA & WBC/NABA cruiserweight title. The Cleveland native Green is 9-0-1 and is the current NABF & USBA cruiserweight champion. Clarkson makes the trip from Texas with a 22-6-1 (15 KOs) record.
The event will also feature multiple boxers with extensive MMA backgrounds, including Bellator veteran Travis Davis, Jerrell Hodge, Alfred Leisure, and UFC/Bellator/PFL veteran Dan Spohn.
On Saturday, March 5, OCL 18 will also go down at the Hollywood Casino, feature a pro and amateur MMA bouts. Unbeaten rising star Josiah Harrell is expected to compete in a high-profile bout where a win could propel him to one of the national organizations.
A “Guns & Hoses” charity boxing event featuring police officers and firefighters from around Ohio will also take place on Thursday, March 3.
The Arnold Sports Festival takes place in Columbus from March 3-6 and features more than 20,000 athletes from 80+ nations and 60+ sports and events all across Columbus.
The Arnold Expo, in the main hall of the Greater Columbus Convention Center, is the nation’s largest health and fitness exposition. It annually showcases leading businesses and organizations featuring the latest trends in the industry.
In 1989, the Arnold Sports Festival was founded by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Columbus business Jim Lorimer in Columbus, Ohio. Other festivals are held in Melbourne, Australia; São Paulo, Brasil; Johannesburg, South Africa; Seville, Spain; and Birmingham, England.
