Omar Kellom talks spoiling Ugalde’s party at Maverick 20

Tune into the full interview with Omar Kellom above

After a lengthy layoff following a last win in March of 2019, Omar Kellom has his sights locked on lightweight gold, once more.

Kellom, who last defeated Luis Rivera for the PA Cage Fight lightweight title before a hiatus, is set to return to action in just a few days.

Standing across the cage from Kellom on the evening will be undefeated, Josh Ugalde at Maverick 20, going down this Saturday, August 6th.

Considering the lengthy layoff, Kellom has mixed emotions entering this title bout. Obviously, on one hand, he’s happy and elated for the opportunity to display his talents in front of a broader audience. Especially with a title bout at stake. However, he can’t help but have a sense of bitterness and favoritism ahead of fight night.

“3 tickets?” Kellom rhetorically asks? Referencing an issue Kellom had within the promotion when he was allegedly declined 3 tickets for his children to come and watch their father compete. “I didn’t ask for hotel and travel…I just asked for 3 tickets,” Kellom says.

Clearly upset with the situation surrounding the fight, Kellom has a detailed list of intentions, come fight night.

He makes it no secret that he plans to “spoil the plans” by upsetting Ugalde, who he adamantly expressed is the promotions “guy”. Following the bout, he plans to celebrate with his kids and talk his “shit,” as he plans to address his overall treatment within the promotion leading up to fight night in his post-fight victory speech.

Filled to the brim with emotions and his adrenaline on fire, Omar Kellom joins MyMMANews to discuss his title opportunity at Maverick 20. We discuss his lengthy layoff and the benefits it’s had in his game. As well as he gives a detailed prediction of how he feels the bout will play out.
