ONE Championship rankings shifts after ONE on TNT series

ONE Championship rankings shifts occur in the wake of the ONE on TNT series.

Multiple weight categories saw some revisions to their hierarchies with several notable shifts transpiring at lightweight.

Christian Lee still finds himself in the champion position after he dispatched Timofey Nastyukhin via seventy-three second TKO at ONE on TNT II. The defeat dropped Nastyukhin two spots in the rankings whereby he is now the number five lightweight in ONE.

Ok Rae Yoon vaulted up a couple of spots in the divisional hierarchy. This came after a pair of impressive victories during the ONE on TNT series.

He earned unanimous decisions over Marat Gafurov and Eddie Alvarez at the third and fourth TNT cards respectively. Carving out that number three ranked lightweight placement for Ok Rae Yoon in the ONE Circle.

For Shinya Aoki, it’s somewhat apropos that he was able to advance two spots to get to that number two spot.

Aoki earned his placement in the ONE lightweight rankings by submitting former divisional kingpin Eduard Folayang in the first round of their ONE on TNT IV bout. This contest saw Aoki emerge victorious from the Folayang rubber match while also simultaneously extending his win streak to four.

Iuri Lapicus dropped two spots in the ONE Championship lightweight rankings in the wake of his no contest with Eddie Alvarez. Following the controversial ONE on TNT I bout that was initially ruled a DQ win for Lapicus, Iuri goes from number two to number four.

There was also a bit of ranking reframing for the men’s flyweight warriors.

Yuya Wakamatsu advanced one spot after his unanimous decision victory over number five ranked Reece McLaren at ONE on TNT III. Wakamatsu is, at this juncture, the #3 flyweight within ONE Championship.

Also, Kairat Akhmetov dropped down from three to four in the weight category.

This movement was not informed by an unfavorable bout outcome but from Akhmetov’s inactivity recently. He last competed in December but is presently riding a three-fight winning streak in ONE flyweight competition.
