ONE Championship teases Gordon Ryan vs Andre Galvao matchup

Gordon Ryan vs Andre Galvao is something that can seemingly go down in either submission grappling or MMA.

ONE Championship teased matching up their big-name BJJ signees on their official social media account.

The organization gauging interest here further validates the theory many had. One where both Ryan and Galvao would have their ONE Championship debuts against one another.

Both Gordon Ryan and Andre Galvao are signed to similar deals in ONE Championship. Contracts that allow for concurrent opportunities competing within both submission grappling and mixed martial arts.

The two men have well-documented bad blood with one another as the video of Ryan slapping a middle finger extending Galvao has gained widespread circulation online.

One can make a logical inference and suggest that MMA will be the discipline these two test skills with inside the ONE Circle.

It was announced that Gordon Ryan and Andre Galvao would be competing in submission grappling at ADCC 2022.

September 17th and 18th of next year ADCC 2022 goes down and this Ryan versus Galvao super fight is set to transpire sometime over that pair of days.

Ryan has yet to compete within mixed martial arts. This has been a long targeted move though and the Danaher Death Squad martial artist has been honing his skills alongside fighters like the number one contender for the ONE featherweight world title Garry Tonon.

Galvao does have experience in the small gloves and has an MMA record of 5-2 overall. The Dream and Strikeforce veteran was able to secure finishes via submission and also striking-based stoppages.

Andre Galvao’s last MMA bout took place in October 2010 in a losing effort to eventual UFC welterweight world champion Tyron Woodley at Strikeforce: Diaz vs Noons II.

What would your thoughts be on ONE Championship booking Gordon Ryan vs Andre Galvao?
