ONE: Next Gen Bout Withdrawals affect Atomweight Grand Prix
ONE Championship announces a pair of ONE: Next Gen Bout Withdrawals. The martial arts extravaganza broadcasts live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium this Friday, October 29th.
ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Roman Kryklia has withdrawn from his targeted bid for more hardware. He was slated for a ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing world championship clash against Iraj Azizpour. Taking Kryklia’s place is Anderson “Braddock” Silva, who tests skills versus Azizpour in a heavyweight kickboxing non-title affair.
Anderson “Braddock” Silva is no stranger to short-notice turn arounds and last participated in one in a different combat discipline. Silva took on MMA debutant/ jiu-jitsu leviathan Marcus Buchecha Almeida in a mixed martial arts contest. One where he ultimately fell short to Buchecha at ONE: Revolution at the end of September.
ONE: Next Gen Bout Withdrawals
Undefeated judoka stylist Itsuki Hirata has also withdrawn from her semifinal contest in the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix. Jenelyn Olsim was set to face Jihin Radzuan in a World Grand Prix alternate bout at ONE: Next Gen II. But will now fight Ritu Phogat in a few days’ time.
In the cases of both Kryklia and Hirata, they withdrew from their bouts due to undisclosed medical issues.
Stamp Fairtex vs. Julie Mezabarba, the World Grand Prix semifinal on the opposite end of the bracket, will now top the marquee for ONE: Next Gen.
